emo is not a trend. it stands for emotive hardcore. which is a type of music which developed from indie rock music. jimmy eat world is awesomely awesome and they are a rock band not an emo band.

sad though that media labels everything and everyone "emo" nowadays. black hair, painted nails, chains, sad songs, whining lead singer, a scarf, make-up
i grew when emo ment something. when bands like texas is the reason, samiam, farside, quicksand and lots and lots of other great band ruled.
now it's all fucked up, and i can't even use the word emo without laughing and thinking what it has become, and what it stands for.
