REDROCK TEST FOOTAGE

Video Description:
HVX200, Redrock Micro M2, follow focus. 1080/24pA. Canon FD Primes: 28mm f2.8, 50mm f1.2, 85mm f1.8. Tripod is totally overpowered by the unit, hence the motion and shaking when attempting to use the follow focus with the whips to achieve D.O.F. shots. Also, the M2 drops you about a step and 1/2 of light. Especially relative to the f2.8 28mm wide angle shot/Lentar. I also discovered, quite stupidly, that I didn't open the iris all the way on the HVX itself, so these should actually be probably a step lighter.

| I don't understand what you are showing? An image that goes from 'out of focus' to an image that is 'more out of focus' Why would you want to do this? |

| Astounding deductive capabilities on your end! To elucidate for you, the Redrock has a follow-focus system, which resolves "in and out of focus" as you have identified with stunning literary accuracy. Hence, out of the box, this test was to simply mount different lenses, test the follow-focus (on an admittedly weak tripod), and see how the footage looked on Youtube in low-light conditions. [FOOTNOTE: I was actually thinking of submitting this piece to Cannes.] |
