| Yes Buddy Rich is fast and exremely talented but is speed the measure of great drumming?? The first solo looks to me like some old guy bloated with self importance giving the public an unhealthy dose of Mcdrumming and could you cheese it up a little more with some more whooping??? My point is this, a drum kit is an instrument not a machine gun which when played and tuned as such can create the most amazing sounds. Hear Dave Brubek take 5 original recording, nicely tuned drums played sparingly. |
