one of the masterpieces of all time - this song. no chorus. part of the Another Side album he recorded in one single evening. the lyrics are so personal, touching, introspective, yet somehow easily understandable - and his trademark voice of a two-hundred year old who has seen all of history somehow.

The Ramona that this song was written about used to be my mother in law. She is a very sweet lady. Her name is really Ramona. The "South" from what I understand is Indiana, which is South of Minnesota where he and she grew up. I was a Dylan fan before I was related to her, but mostly the Gospel stuff; Saved and Slow Train Coming. This is a great album though - pretty deep.
