Okay, the 0-62 time is accepted, since it is a big luxury Mercedes. But the take the GTR for comparison: 1730 kg and 0-62 after 3,3sec. The Black Series with nearly 200 more bhp, and 150 more kg is half a second slower! Plus the gearbox: in M2(fastest) it changes in 250 milliseconds. That is four times the time of a Scuderia, four! (The new Audi S-Tronic uses 100ms)

Also, I forgot the top speed: 199mph is fast, indeed! But for a 670 bhp supercar, I'd expect some more. And, since you are asking about the money; I got my $537,000 cabin cruiser delivered this may, so I can't really say I'm in the market for a car like this right now. (btw, before your next arguing with me, get your facts straight, please. Its not a convertible, is it?)

The faster you go, the more wind resistance is pushing on your car. So there would come a point in time where you would need to have 1 million more horsepower just to gain 1mph on the top speed. You must thing about that factor. and why does everyone compare them to BMW? bmw fanatics love being naive.

well then the ferrari enzo isnt a true sports car either since that has paddle shifts too. And a formula 1 car must not be a sports car either since that also has paddle shift gears. Jesus get with the times man. The stick shift may be good fun but its been surpassed and is outdated.

ah yes the nissan GTR. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds if you use the launch control feature. And what happens if you use the launch control? Anyone? Yes, it invalidates your warranty and you get stuck with a bill for thousands when it destroys your transmission. Its happened to a lot of american owners of the GTR already

if the SLR is such a joke why is it so fast around the Top Gear test track? It was as fast as a Porsche Carrera GT which is supposed to be a lightweight stripped down supercar. It has the same power and is 400kg lighter yet it was no faster than the SLR around a lap. That tells you how incredibly impressive the SLR is and on top of all that its a GT cruiser which is actually practical unlike any other supercar.

I agree that formula 1 cars should have paddle shifts, but thats because it is an actual racecar. So many ferraris have paddle shifts but almost any car expert will tell you that they dont like those gearboxes. All I'm sating is you just cant have the same feel for the car with paddle shifts because there is still a computer controlling when the car changes gear. If you want to have total control of the car, you need a manual gearbox with a stick.

driving with 250 or 300 km/h is the easiest thing to do but compare sl 600 with the 65 amg in handling or 0-100 to see the real diference
