hydrogen fuel cells wont be cost effective until we have an enormous amount of nuclear power plants or we figure out how to recreate fusion bc energy must be put in to the water to split the oxygen from the hydrogen. u could use ethanol to do that, but why do that when you can just use ethanol in general??
so yes, the future of the car engine is hydrogen fuel cells - but not the near future.
