Great band and cool live vid. Electronic drums are still around. Yamaha and Roland both make nice sets. Plus, older gear is widely available. I saw a band using electonic drums a few months ago.
Re-flex truly one ... ( 9 months ago by howardhelm)
Re-flex truly one of my favorite albums of the 80s. One of my favorite albums to sing to beacause of it's great melody and rhythm. It's a shame that this band might have got lost in the shadows of Duran Duran. Although i always thought Re-flex was more sophisticated sounding. It's true that milestones are remembered for all time, this is one of those works. Hails to you for the video, it completely reinvented this "best track of the 80's" for me. I always envyed his vocals and range of clarity.

I loved this tune ... ( 8 months ago by khkartc)
I loved this tune back in the day, along with most of the PoD album. I owned the album on cassette in pre-CD days, and then it was the first CD I bought (special-ordered)--which of course I have since imported into my iTunes. It's great to see Re-Flex perform it live. I always lamented the band's breakup, although apparently their egos wouldn't all fit in one room.

Everybody Wang Chung tonight! That bass player is the shiznit. It's like he's got a reverse Mohawk going there. Also, you gotta love those electro-drums. Totally 1983.

I'm posting in the various Re-Flex video comments to inform/remind everyone that Re-Flex are going to be releasing a CD box set which will include "The Politics of Dancing" album, the second album, "Humanication", plus 2 others, and all their singles and B-sides. There is an official web site for inquiries about the CDs. Also, lead singer/guitarist John Baxter and I have set up a special e-mail for fan Q&A. Anyone interested in more info let me know, and please pass the word along. Thanks!

Along with Propaganda and Huang Chung (as they were originally called) this is probably the best of the genre. You can still see Nigel (bass) do "The Rooster" every Wednesday at the White Hart jam night, Wadhurst!(see videos)

Yeah---I loved this song at the time---it's pretty much a forgotten '80's classic tune in my book, which is too bad, because it really was a great hit, like you said. I didn't even know this live performance existed. Believe it or not, this tune just popped in my head 15 min ago and I looked it up. As banging as this song was, the audience is totally dead, even though the band is throwing down--weird! I also remmeber seeing the video to their other song "Hurt" only once.
