There is no reason for him TO like the goth label... It attracts goths,especially "poseur" goths, which scare away "Normal" people, also it makes it so people expect a certain sound from him, and limits the creative potential for his band.

How can people that are attracted to real goth music be poseur goths? Goth is a subculture based on music mate. A person listening to the music is automaticly a goth. Even though goths might be having different characters, tastes and opinions, the music is exactly what makes goths like this.
Also, goth music is dark music that goths generally like listening to. Meaning that if a new band with dark tastes gets apeal to goths, its automaticly goth. Its the way things go these days.

I was referring to it in an ascetic way. All I meant was that people who look like mansonites tend to freak "Normal" people out. Therefore, a band that has a lot of "Scary looking individuals" tends to not get many new people coming to concerts... yes? Why would Regular Joe go into a bar if Hells angels were having a party in it? Does this make more sense?
