300 and Grindhouse were absolutely amazing. Didn't think too much of Spiderman 3 though. For some reason the signifier of evil seemed to be an emo fringe. The SFX were good though. It's the sort of thing you watch if you don't want to think for a while.

300 was fucking beautiful...for the first 3/4 of the movie. After the queen stabbed the fucker that raped her (which was fucking awesome) the movie when down hill fast and eventually crashed and burned with the worst ending I've ever seen.

The mountains, beaches, deserts, forests, valleys, palm trees, hills, sweeping panoramic vistas, 330 days of sunshine, Catalina Island, fantastic weather, diversity, vibrant arts scene, and just the general atmosphere. To say that LA is the "stupidity capital of the world" (I think you're referring to Hollywood, not LA) is the dumbest thing ever.
