Yeah, I agree. Just seems like so many clips from Europe are of great quality. Last week was INSANE! I was at both shows! Did you hit both? They were both different, at least 6-7 different tunes, including a solo version of Always And Forever. I got a full vid of the last tune, Backarm and Blackcharge which came out awesome, that I'll post on my channel in a day or so. Look for it, it totally kicks ass! JV

I have trouble giving PT the 110% endorsement. his right hand is so weird, like a robin pecking bird seed. i think his best work is the atmosphere stuff with Lyle Mayes. as a trio guitar player, I find myself pining for Hank Garland. hhhhmmmm any hank garland on the youtubes? the tone is a little flat: plywood ibanez, roland amp, delay. not exactly setting the world on fire in the tone dept. Is there a "head" a "melody" on this track? anything profound? statement?

somebody send this guy a 64 ounce bottle of hair conditioner! I saw PT live once a long long long time ago. He was very good, way ahead of the curve. the brutal thing about music performance nowadays is the resonant culture changes and then the performer is left without some of the "electricity." for example, you base you art on something and the something changes.

in the real world of arts, the critic and the artist are two bookends. some say the critic is the artist's best friend. nowadays, all the noobs demand "happy speak." they don't realize they are cashing out the funds in the artist bank account

Um, Yeah Joeey. I just started listening to jazz yesterday. I think someone, such as yourself, that dismisses modal or non-melodic free jazz that this Metheny piece represents kinda loses their credibility on the whole topic of jazz. But hey, I like your blurbs on "resonant culture". Resonant is a cool word.

Clarification: The piece is modal, but fits into the Non-Tonal category of Modal Jazz. See some of Miles Davis' mid 60's stuff with Shorter, Carter, Hancock, Williams.

ilike eric johnson and alan holdsworth. when those guys are hot, it is out of this universe but sort of hard on the brain. i think it has a bad effect. maybe art w/o electricity is better. = true peace. the modern world is very difficult, all of this stimulus + this horrible era of corrupt politics. i cant stand that contemporary (US)artists are soooo politically impotent. they should be shouting from the rooftops, leading the people. i think i have left this type of music and am more demanding.
