As has been said ... ( 5 days ago by JerryX68)
As has been said elsewhere, many know that Dr King had a dream but too few know what that dream was. He argued for 'a revolution of values', with all that that implied, and boy do we need to move in that direction now.
Thats not true and ... ( 3 days ago by taylor8407)
Thats not true and Jesus Chirst himself said so. "No greater ove a man hath that he would ive up his life for a friend." That sthe love that he taught and many a man died for that same love. Not for our sins; only He could do that, but for the love of those that we love some of us have the character to give up that life.
Never forget that our troops do this everyday... ...the war in Iraq is a great fault of American character and they give up thier lives for that.

Yes but I mean he died by own will, he knew what was gonna come. Soldiers don't die because they want to but by accident.
I understand what ... ( 3 days ago by taylor8407)
I understand what you mean. The reason I commented is because I don't believe you understood what teh comment you posted on meant. The point was that he died for a reason. He accomplished alot for minorities in life; he accomplished alot more for them in death. Thats was his passion. Also the point about our troops is not that they died, but that they risk their lives for us. In this regard did Dr. King die for his people. To trade life for freedom is the best gift of all.
Most of the reason ... ( 3 days ago by taylor8407)
Most of the reason we live his dream today is because of the life sacrifice he made. He was lead by Christ's example in the best of ways. To stare down death with such resolve and to emerge victorious through the lives of your children. Those who opposed him helped him accomplish his goals by killing him. His dream could not be stopped but furthermore was quickened by those who rose against him. How amazing is the irony of God.
With all due ... ( 3 days ago by Meloman0001)
With all due respect, he accomplished the first part of his goal, which was to abolish segregation. But his most difficult task which was to end the economic challenges the black people have faced (are facing) is far from achieved. So I don't think we can say we are living his dream yet. but hopefully with some new leadership, we can get there! ;)
As I listen to this ... ( 2 days ago by noblefailure)
As I listen to this man's words... I feel cheated, and robbed, and deeply wronged... that this man who could have done so much for the downtrodden of this country and the world was taken away from us. I think each of us has a burden to hear his words and bring to pass the world he envisioned. He'll always be one of my greatest heroes.
No one is a Nigger. ... ( 2 days ago by Anointedchild39)
No one is a Nigger. That name belongs only unto those who it originally came from, which is white racist.
Those who has true dreams are also called, "Prophets." If you dare to offend one, it is better for you to have a milestone about your neck and cast into the sea.
We need this man ... ( 2 days ago by john84uab)
We need this man and his vision today. Obama is not the answer, I will vote for niether him or McCain. Our country has not lived upto the goals of MLK and JFK. We're headed down that dark road with no return. Ron Paul is the man with the vision of truth and love. Poverty is on the rise everyday with with the state of our economy. I see more beggars now than ever! Wake up America before its too late! We all will be begging before long, for our freedom and liberty that is. GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you ... ( 2 days ago by taylor8407)
I agree with you and after careful reasearch, Ron Paul was the best choice but is he still running? One of the two you mentioned will be tne next POTUS. It is our duty as well as our right to see to it that the best of the two is elected. I'm not commenting to say who that is. Our opinions could differ but if you belive in MLK's vision you should stand up for what he belived in and one of those things is your right to vote. (Use it or lose it)

It is really ... ( 1 day ago by McWitchy)
It is really important to note that the predominant reason for the failure of the US to achieve "victory" (I use the term loosely) was because they were up against an opponent who consistently employed guerilla tactics, and incredibly effective ones at that. The US army was and still is trained to defeat enemies they can see and distinguish from the remaining civilian population and the Viet Cong, in defense of their homeland, did not abide by traditional methods of warfare.
