Poor Dean was showing the affects of those damn cigarettes he smoked all those years (emphysema), but after the tragic death of his son he really lost his will to live. We miss you Dean. Rest in peace.
wow, i was thinking ... ( 6 months ago by LordStinkfoot)
wow, i was thinking the same thing. But Groucho used to talk fast and got really slow later in life. Dino was always kinda slow & smooth, but by this time, was slower, and sad. Not fair.
Well, as stated in ... ( 6 months ago by MrMajstyk)
Well, as stated in every biography about Dino, he had a few health issues, some of which caused him a great deal of pain later in life, and he used to take Percodan regularly, which can cause a lot of the slower speech and "fuzziness" displayed here. And, by comparison to his younger years, he did slow down quite a bit. But he still pulled it together for this, one of his rare interviews, and a glimpse into the man behind the legend. I love it! Thanks for posting.

Dean, with Elvis, John Wayne, Barry White, Allan Ladd and all the other big American stars were charismatic icons. Larger than life and forces of nature. Could Dean have come from Germany? Of course not. Thank you USA!!!

Thank you USA? Dean Martin is Italian, you plonker!
Owenpetard. Dean ... ( 4 months ago by maputo95)
Owenpetard. Dean Martin is Italian- American not Italian. An Italian American is someone born in the United States of Italian descent. Dean Martin only ever visited Italy and never lived there. Barry White is African American and John Wayne is British American. I love Italians and Italian Americans but they are different. thjere are also Brasilains of Italian descent etc and all have their unique identities, you plonker!

No, maputo95! Barry White is Black. Every colored guy I've ever called African American or Afro-American has told me that he's Black. And stop making race an issue! Everyone also knows Italians and Italian Americans are different.

I just adore Dean--- He is my teen crush and I have only the best memories of him (via tv). His speech was lagged by bad dental work well documented. Golly, how fame has changed. I just wish that Brittany would stop driving and causing all those headaches.

Italian american ... ( 2 months ago by mttm06)
Italian american are not Italians that's true nowadays, because they are 3rd generation Americans. Both Dean Martin's father was Italian born in Italy and moved to Ohio where Dean Martin (Dino Crocetti) was born. So is first generation american with Italian parents. I would say he is more Italian than American, so was Rocky Marciano and a lot of other people that were born in the states in the 10s,20's and 30's from Italian parents. Today there's very few Italians and lots of Italian Americans
