Y.T. is an open forum for diverse opinions... however some opinions lack experience, knowledge, understanding, taste, background, etc. etc. and therefore lack merit or consideration. I believe yours fell into that category. Perhaps if you played piano and understood music you would be able to appreciate the finer points of Ms. Krall's amazing talent.

Krall is nominally good. Cute. A nice, technically acceptable jazz piano style. Vocals? Mediocre at best. Perfectly vanilla. But listen, compare her to Shirley Horn and then you see the absence of magic with Krall. Again: she's not bad, she's cute, but she ain't no legend. And she lacks magic and wonder and deep waters... But again, she's an acceptable vanilla pop jazz pianist.

the best version of world on a string is the one done by erin o'hara imo done for a mercedes benz commercial a while back maybe over 5 years ago. I dont think mercedes benz allowed the song to be released for public use. its almost impossible to find, havent seen it since the commercials stopped airing and i still remember that version. the version done by erin o'hara was more modern and it actually flowed really well unlike the other versions of this song like the one in this video.

I'm a musician my self who's even older than you are and performed even longer than you. I happen to enjoy her singing style. Pretentious? She's so laid back that she's anything but.
