I had no idea there were checkpoints INside our country's borders. I have not run into them here, deep in the 'heartland.' Were you asked to show i.d., or was it just an exercise in blind obedience, with more restrictions to be instituted at a later date...? I thought we had freedom of movement in this country...Or was that just an illusion :(

it is an illusion....and they are all over...essentially, as far as i can tell, it seems to be a good way to harass people....and scare them...what your asked to give depends on the day and the "U.S. Officers" mood....they started them using border patrol officers and equipment....but now homeland security has their own vehicles and officers....and they only have them randomly....

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! it is rumored to exist in small pockets, underground cadres and maybe in a few caves in remote mountainous areas despite all official international efforts to suppress and destroy its vestiges.. don't tell anyone but i think i feel it sometimes (i have a little right here!)

I just haven't experienced even the first part of what so many bemoan about Home Land Sec. Police State? That is stretching the bounds of hyperbole. We live, the western world, in near absolute peace. We pay thugs to tear up the rest of the world so we can live easy. Anyone within the borders of the western world is as culpable. Think of it like slaughtering chickens. You may never have done it, but each person that has ever ordered McNuggets has made requisite the death of a bird.

I think the U.S. are the most creative country when it comes to combining horrible things with words/terms/sentences that mean something "good" and feel fluffy and cute. A war for oil becomes a "war against terror". An organisation like DHA that invades privacy does such wonderfull things like "preserving freedom" giving up civil liberties is called a "patriot act" and taking away a womens soverignity over her own body is called "pro life". That all being said, I liked this a lot. :)

Everybody I love and know will die. I will die. Time will pass and every trace of me will disappear and never return. Its ok with me. I will be me,making now. In the future some one will be them,making then. You got to shake up the etch-a-sketch if you want to draw something new. Right now I may not anything about anything because I am nothing special and neither are they. I'm going to do,build,love,fight,feel,break things,have meaning and play no matter how much or little I have.
