Where did you ever find all these recordings? They are really wonderful to hear, and sound amazingly good for their age and the primitive media. Have you thought of transferring any of these to CD? They should be preserved, in my opinion. Great record player as well. What brand is it and how old?

Most of the things that I post are available as reissues on CD, although it takes a bit of searching. The machine is a Victor orthophonic (the Borgia II). Generally I don't play my records on this. Just for visual interest on Youtube.

I forgot, the phono is from 1926/27. I found most of my records in the '70's and '80's at estate sales, yard sales, library sales, flea markets, antique shops. Most were very cheap or free (I was given several major library collections of classical music). Nobody wanted them then.

He wrote the book on this song,but he also did a great introduction on another rendition which is quite unique.He uses the n word in it to the max. Have you never heard it? This is a very good rendition,and the other is on his greatest hits CD I believe!
