I too, deeply hate Dick Buttons commentary style. However, I can't claim that he doesn't have the chops to back it up though. He pioneered ice skating in his day - first man ever to do a triple jump among other things.

I love this performance. The way he flips her around starting at 4:27 always blows my mind. And yes, there are skating routines that are more complicated and have trickier moves, but this performance was for ice dancing. The dancing allows more freedom than pairs skating. Ice Dancing is about artistic creativity, and these guys were swimming in it.

Did you know that olympic rules state that a skating piece must last no less than 3 mins 50secs and no longer than 4 mins 10 secs. The music for this piece lasts 4 mins 28 secs so to get round that neither Jayne nor Chris' skate blades touch the ice for the first 18 secs. Check it out.

Yes, mikmaqwoman, this is the most beautiful program, ever. There is Torville and Dean, and then there is everybody else. Their "Bolero" is hypnotic, and it touches a place in the heart that brings emotions to the surface. Don't know if I like the new judging system, but I do know that ice dancers of today are so busy trying to get maximum points for every move that the passion, creativity and emotion are ioo often lost. Would like to hear your opinion. Thanks for your posting.

"Hypnotic" was the word shuffling through my brain before I read any of the comments here. Somebody was doing some serious thinking when they chose this piece of music, and then married the routine so beautifully to it. One of those great "you had to have been there" Olympic moments. You don't see many of 'em like this.
