An Airbus A320-200 Lufthansa nearly crashed during a crosswind approach on the runway 23 at the airport Hamburg International (EDDH) on 1st march 2008 in Germany. Extreme landing or approach. Crash. Left wing touched the runway. Crazy. Hard and dangerous. Funny landing. Storm Emma 2008 in Germany (Hamburg EDDH). After the landing the left wing was destroyed. This first landing was a wingstrike. Travel & Events.

This landing was done by a 24 year old female co-pilot and she did a great job! After the touch and go they used another runway at the Hamburg airport, but at this time the 39 year old captain landed the aircraft safely!
I think both of them did a great job! Lot's of people in Germany complained about the fact, that they could have used the other runway in the first place ... Hindsight is easier than foresight!

from what i heard crosswind speed was 45 knots, 55 being the maximum allowed to land. so the landing was not 'wrong'.
with that in mind, i think the pilots deserve respect for doing a good job. anyways, if they could have, i still wonder why they did not choose the runway that landed into the wind.

this didn t need to happen beacuse this airplane was flying by a young women with only 30 flight hours.if captain was controling bank ,and put that woman to control angle ,probably it wouldn t been so dramatic situation. so ,captain made stupid decision and let that young unexpirienced first officer to control bank.

all i can say is wow, imagine getting the audio from inside the plane ppl screaming and everything:( it makes it worse since you cant see whats happening so your mind creates a visual picture thats usually alot worse than reality
