Looked pretty good and was still sharp. Sadly, it was clear that he was having respiratory diffuculties. Note the heaving chest and open-mouth breathing. Dean was already suffering from the cigs. None-the-less he still appeared to be having a good time and enjoying himself. I heard Dom Deluise say Dean was the most honest performer he ever saw. Not a phony bone in his body and interviews like this prove it.

this guy was a true talent and gentleman. I had read that everyone who worked with him said he was just great and easy to get along with, where Jerry Lewis was a pain in the ass.

He went without, and you can see that on re-runs of the show all his shows are done ad-lived you can see him trip over stuff all the time but you have to watch closely couse he will made it part of the show and ad-live it in. he never did retakes couse it was filmed live and when he did do a retake you will see all the takes.
