The only thing wrong with this is the balance. If Josh's singing was as loud as the girl's I think it would sound really fabulous. She has a great voice - it's just that the balance isn't there.

This recording was obviously made by Shanice while she sang along with a recording of Josh singing The Prayer by himself. She doesn't have the quality voice of Charlotte Church or Celine. It was a self-promotion.

Before you go around making senseless comments, you need to read first! This is a REHEARSAL. Don't you know what that is? Josh and Shanice were both trained by the same coach. He had already recorded the song, his low keyed singing cud be 2 facilitate Shanice learning. Charlotte & Celine hav nothin on Shanice vocally. Shanice aint desperate for fame either!

If eyeluvhouse & sootycarac had read they wud know that this rehearsal was done to facilitate shanice and josh's live performance of the song. Only an idiot who doesn't know good singing wud speak negatively about this informal rendition. Shanice is noted for her 5 octaves I doubt Celine and Charlotte have 3. This aint a popularity contest it's about vocals, and that's what Shanice has!!!

IMO, these much better vocals than Celine AND especially Charlotte Church. She has a great voice. It would be really nice to hear the actual duet. I do also think that Josh wasn't actually there, the balanced of Josh's voice is MUCH lower...And he has a really powerful voice, so if he had actually been there with her, it would have sounded more balanced.

Not the calibre of Charlotte and Celine! hahaha. Ur truly a baffoon. What Shanice can do vocally celine and charlotte can oly wish. And 2 b fair I made sure to check them out before commenting and for their's nothing special about them. Charlotte can't belt and Celine continues to confuse belting with screaming. Yolanda's version supercede theirs also, so go learn bout singing befo typing shit!!!

PLEASE set your hearing aids to full strength. Charlotte Church?? Celine is OK. Get real. They have nice voices but no where near the SKILL of Shanice. Her tone is so sweet and can hit some of the highest notes ever LIVE, her whistle register is so pure look at her National Anthem - shes not a studio project. I'm sure you are one of those people that think Hilary Duff is great.

Take my advice and go and get your hearing checked. Shanice is ten times better than the overrated Celine and definitely the limited Charlotte. What Shanice can do vocally, these two can't even dream of doing. Don't know on what basis you come up with your opinion, but I'm certain it's not on voice! Maybe fame, but not vocals!!!

She has a really good voice and they sound good together, but the balance is off. If he was singing as loud as her, it would be even better. It sounds like she is singing along with a recording.

éline, which is not true. And Céline started with an album in 1981, not a talent show. She started singing at 5. Overated Céline? Do you know a lot of singers who, after 27 years of career, can sing all the songs they recorded as good if not better than they use to?

Sorry for that, but in any event, Shanice did not begin her career with Star Search; that happened when she was 11 years old. Shanice was already making television appearances and performing from she was 8. She even did a commercial with the legendary Ella Fitzgerald when she was 9. A career in entertainment is not confined to the release of an album; there are many singers out there who have never released an album, and fyi Shanice started singing from she was 3.

As for the Yolanda Adams/
Donnie McClurkin version, It would have been nice if they both learned Italian and sang the verses in that language. I love that version of the song, but Shanice's vocals are powerful. Ihe passion in that voice, flawless. If only this was a single. Yes people, Shanice is louder than Josh...it's a rehearsal, not a "single/studio recording."

I love Celine/Shanice.. I cannot compare these 2 artists, it's not fair to. Both artists have long careers and impressive vocals, problem is that Celine fans unfairly consider Shanice a untalented or weak, because Celine is a different type of artist with a different range of vocal. I vocally love Shanice better, but they both appeal to totally different audiences. On another blog, Celine fans bashed Tracie Spencer and called her untalented, just cause her remake of "Nothings Broken.." HELL NO!

These two sounded great in this duet, this is such a beautiful song that I have heard many, many times at weddings and during the holidays.
