This is probably one of the most effective, and most chilling, political ad in history. This was a huge factor in LBJ's huge landslide victory. An ad like this would give a huge backlash if used today, because of political correctness and whatnot the other candidate would be able to hammer him as being insensitive, tasteless, crude, etc.
But this ad was genius....yet scary.

I don't know that you could pick a worse president except W. as an example (even from the standpoint of achieving his agenda, unless you wanna argue that he opened the door to neoliberalism and the sino-us alliance of the 70s and 80s).
